Web/Database Developer - Medical Simulation

Web/Database Developer is the single point of contact for all Network users. Web/Database Developer designs, develops, and implements software packages for websites. Troubleshoots, debugs and implements software code. Has knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures as they relate to web and database development (i.e., SQL, C++, HTML, CGI and JavaScript). Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Single point of contact for all Network users.
  • Provide network users timely notification of planned or unplanned system maintenance or degradation of the network.
  • Provide on-site website and database design, development, testing, management, maintenance, and support to government and contractor employees to develop and maintain the applicable Portal and other applicable web-based/IT/LMS sites.
  • Keep the IM/IT section and COR apprised of any technical problems that arise, and take initiative to resolve such problems in a timely manner that is most cost-effective to the government and provide the highest possible level of customer support.
  • Confirm client requirements, compile reports, and develop the necessary justification documents to acquire needed technical products.
  • Provide expertise in website/database development to design and maintain all hardware/software infrastructures.
  • Provide content management and coordinate with PMO sections and end users to gather and consolidate training needs and content (computer based training (CBTs), Online Courses, Serious Medical Gaming, and App Creation, Discussion Forums, etc.) to continually enhance the web-based portal.
  • Website design, development, testing, management, maintenance
  • Assist with the IT Division budget

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years computer programming experience.
  • Proficient database skills (i.e. SQL)
  • 3 years web design and database experience.
  • Experience in various web and mobile web applications development using Microsoft SharePoint 2010/2013 and Designer, MS Access, Adobe Dreamweaver, AJAX, HTML, DHTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, SQL.
  • 1 year experience working with database and information architecture, with web application integration
  • Experience with database modeling and development
  • Basic understanding of Flash video/animation, Unity web player, and other software used for e-training
  • Experience working with the latest SCORM compliance requirements and programming methodology to integrate virtual training platforms and data tracking within the applicable Portal
  • Ability to communicate and teach non-technical users
  • Experience working with, designing and developing Content Management Systems

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Military experience, particularly military medical experience
  • Working knowledge of the organizational functions and training requirements of Air Force Medical Treatment Facilities
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Access Database knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of database and information architecture, with web application integration
