Sales Manager

The Sales Manager is responsible for the sales activities within this well-respected Medical supply business. Managing a team of external and internal sales professionals, this influential leadership role is a perfect next step for a proven sales professional, keen to establish themselves in Sales Management. Ideally candidates will have a proven track record within medical sales, alternatively, candidates with sales background selling into hospitals, nursing or medical schools will be seriously considered.


Essential Functions

  • Development of sales strategy to meet the company, team and individual sales goals.
  • Introduce tried and accepted management techniques, including sales pipeline management, to aid the sales process.
  • Management and development of external and internal sales, supporting the team to generate increasing levels of business
  • Manage key National accounts 
  • Maximize new business development and increase market share in existing markets
  • Keep up to date with market conditions and competition
  • Maintain and develop relationships with key contacts/institutions and corporate partners
  • Represent the company at key customer events and build customer loyalty
  • Attend conferences, trade fairs and exhibitions as required
  • Work closely with all sales team members, marketing team and customer support team


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proven ability to sell to all levels within healthcare and/or healthcare education 
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience selling devices or consumables within a blue-chip healthcare company, having benefited from their sales training program
  • Ideally 2 years’ sales manager experience, having benefited from solid in-house sales management training
  • Informed approach to sales and sales management, including consultative selling, key account management and pipeline management.
  • High levels of numeracy, written and e-numeracy.
  • Able to communicate clearly, concisely
  • Strong IT & CRM skills
  • US or Canadian citizen
  • Up to 85% travel required


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ year sales experience required
